Getting Started
Q: How do I purchase data?

A: To begin you can either choose a specific data product (e.g. End-of-Day Data, Tick Data, etc.) or select a specific CBOT futures or options product and then choose a data product. You will then customize your purchase using supplied query tools unless you use Bulk Download. After submitting your query, you will be required to register if you are not already a registered user. After registering, you will proceed to the billing section. After your payment is accepted you will be direct to a page containing the data you purchased. You can then open and/or save the data to your computer.

Q: What are CTI codes or Customer Trade Indicators?

A: CTI codes or Customer Trade Indicators are categories used by the CBOT to identify different types of market participants.
CTI1 - Trades executed by individual CBOT members trading for their own accounts
CTI2 - Trades executed by CBOT clearing member firms trading for their house accounts
CTI3 - Trades executed by CBOT members filling orders for other CBOT members
CTI4 - Trades filled for the public or any other type of 'outside' customers

Q: How is data delivered?

A: Data is delivered automatically through the CBOT DataExchange website, once you perform a query and make your payment. After making your payment, you will be brought to a new page which provides your data file(s). You can also access the data files you purchased over the past 30-days be logging into CBOT DataExchange and going to the Recent Purchases section under My Account.

Q: Can I be mailed a CD-ROM with the data I purchased?

A: No. Data is only delivered automatically through the CBOT DataExchange website. Once purchased and transferred the data can be saved to your PC, disk, etc.

Q: Can I obtain sample data? 

A: Sample data is provided on the Product page for each type of data.
